  • Unassuming

We believe every person’s journey is unique, and we are dedicated to holding space for everyone, regardless of background, identity, or circumstance. This means cultivating an atmosphere of empathy, openness, and respect, where each individual feels seen, heard, and valued.

  • Decolonizing to Re-Indigenize

We strive to decolonize wellness practices by acknowledging the historical and cultural roots of the teachings we share. This includes addressing appropriation, honoring the origins of yoga and other practices, and continuously educating ourselves on how to offer services in ways that respect their cultural significance.

  • Accessibility

Our spaces and offerings are designed to be as accessible as possible to everyone, regardless of physical ability, financial status, or background. We work to remove barriers so that individuals can engage with our programs in a meaningful way, offering adaptive options and promoting an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

  • Inclusion

As a Rainbow Registered business, we are proudly recognized for our commitment to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We provide a space that is free from discrimination and is safer for individuals of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

β€œI have a long and winding story as to how I got here. But in hindsight, life gave me everything I needed to give life to The Aura House. I’ve lived with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress and periods of paranoia but have never been shy when it comes to the deep work that goes into overcoming those states. My body NEEDS movement. My mind NEEDS to be able to process through my experiences with storytelling. I NEED my time to unwind and stay grounded in the totality of the present moment. I NEED a community of like-minded souls who allow me to explore the many facets of myself without fear of judgment or shame. I NEED my dream team of therapists who practice modalities of the East & West. And I NEED to know I’m not alone in wanting to take all of that out into my world and explore beyond the walls of my comfort zone.

Before I took my first teacher training in 2014, I couldn’t have imagined the life I’ve led since. In 2015, I founded lala wellness, a yoga and mindfulness-based program for children in their early years. Through lala, I trained Early Childhood Professionals all over Ontario and the United States and was recognized as one of Brampton’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2017. That same year, I made my way onto bookshelves in Early Childhood Classrooms by self-publishing my children’s book, I’m a Growing Yogi. In 2020, my opportunity to work with children in classrooms came to a sudden and devastating halt as a result of the pandemic. I took that time to re-imagine what my role in our world needed to look like, and from that, emerged The Aura House: a space where people can reclaim their stories, gain permission to express themselves whole-heartedly, and shift towards greater self-awareness and mental wellness. I hope that The Aura House will be embraced as a community space where people can explore practices that they may not otherwise have access to locally.”
