IMPORTANT STUDIO UPDATES

First and foremost I hope that you are feeling well and had the opportunity to celebrate the holidays in whichever way you could. Our family’s celebrations looked different this year but distance is definitely making the heart grow fonder. I long for the day that we can all be together again without the weight of our current world on our shoulders.

Just as there was a need to make a shift in holiday plans, the studio has reached a pivot point that requires several immediate changes based on what’s going on ‘out there’.

I have sat with the many options available to us and *believe* I've landed on the one that is the least heartbreaking, while also being able to stay open at a sustainable pace mentally, physically & emotionally.

This blog outlines 5 major updates that you need to be aware of:

  1. Temporary reduced schedule

  2. Changes to your membership & membership options

  3. Community Safety & Sustainability Policies

  4. 1-1 Appointments & Special Events

  5. Aura Store Hours

1) CHANGES TO THE SCHEDULE

Starting next week (January 2nd), and until we see case numbers decline OR learn more about the longer term (2-3 week out) impacts of higher case counts, we will be operating with a REDUCED schedule and REDUCED capacity limits in classes (up to 10 people). It is much too stressful to 'wait and see' whether classes will run, and a reduced schedule means that we will *hopefully* be able to run ALL classes without the risk of cancelling due to low attendance. This means that there will be a temporary cut to almost half of our classes. We will also start RECORDING classes and making them available on a CLOSED YouTube channel for members for ONE WEEK after a class happens.

The temporary reduced schedule will be as follows:

Sunday

  • Vinyasa Flow @ 8:30 am with Alex

  • Root to Rise Hatha @ 10:00 am with Danea

Monday

  • Yin @ 6:00 pm with Danea

Tuesday

  • Gentle Yoga @ 7:30 am with Kate

  • Meditation @ 6:00 pm with Diana

Wednesday

  • Hatha for Mobility @ 7:30 am with Alex

  • Restorative @ 6:00 pm with Diana

Thursday

  • Hatha Flow @ 7:30 am with Alex

  • Yang/Yin @ 6:00 pm with Kate

Friday

  • Inspired Flow @ 9:30 am with Maya

Saturday

  • Gentle Yoga @ 9:00 am with Kate

  • Stretch & Strength @ 10:30 am with Adam

2) CHANGES TO MEMBERSHIP

  • All Auto-Renewing memberships will be turned OFF

  • Anyone who currently holds a membership that is set to expire in January will be able to take advantage of our updated membership options

  • The following ‘Bridge’ memberships will be available as we bridge the gap between where we are, and where we hope to be.

    • New Member Special → 3 weeks of unlimited in-studio classes + access to on-demand for $59+HST

    • On-Demand ‘Bridge’ Membership → $59+HST

    • Virtual Unlimited ‘Bridge’ Membership → $89+HST

    • In-Studio + Virtual Unlimited ‘Bridge’ Membership → $99+HST

    • In-Studio + Virtual + On-Demand Unlimited ‘Bridge’ Membership → $119+HST

3) COMMUNITY SAFETY & SUSTAINABILITY POLICIES

Safety

  • As a studio community, we do follow the direction of Public Health & our Government mandates regarding proof of vaccination to participate in studio. We do not have the financial or energetic resources to fight this mandate and appreciate everyone’s understanding of this (also temporary) measure to see us through to the other side of this bridge.

  • If members are experiencing any symptoms related to Covid-19, they are not permitted to participate in-studio and will be responsible for following public health guidelines on testing, self-isolation & recovery.

  • As always, we will continue to keep the studio clean after classes.

  • Masks will continue to be worn throughout the space, EXCEPT for when you are practicing on your mat.

  • We will be increasing the amount of space between each participant to more than 6 feet for extra peace of mind.

Sustainability

  • Something that has been a BIG challenge for us is members cancelling late, or not showing up for classes. We will be implementing a $5 Sustainability Fee that will be charged directly to your account for every late cancellation and no-show. This will help us ensure that we can still adequately compensate our teachers for classes.

  • As a reminder, you MUST cancel your class at least 6 HOURS prior to class start in order for it to be considered an ‘early cancel’.

  • We must have at least 4 people registered for class for it to run. We make the decision to run morning classes the evening before, and the decision to run evening classes 3 hours before start time. This is why it’s incredibly important for us to know who is coming to class. We do not currently operate in a world that can easily accommodate ‘last minute’ decisions. Planning is crucial to the sustainability of your practice.

4) 1-1 APPOINTMENTS & SPECIAL EVENTS

There will be NO change to our ability to facilitate 1-1 appointments or special events. Our Sound Bath on January 16th & Restorative Yoga Teacher Training from January 21 - 23rd & February 4 - 6th will still run as planned.

5) AURA STORE HOURS

A more consistent schedule means that we can have consistent store hours! This is a really great silver lining for us, and hopefully for you too! The Aura Store will be open to the public:

  • Monday - Thursday from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

If you have ANY questions whatsoever, please give Lisa a call at 416 562 4408.
